Mario Basich, Age 79 of Cliffside Park, NJ passed away on August 6, 2023. Beloved Husband of Ana (nee Tarabokija). Devoted Father of Zoran (Alethusa), Dennis (Stephanie), Nicky (Mary),and Christopher. Dear Brother of Josip Basic( Miranda), Marija Bobic (Kuzme) and the late Vjekoslav Basic(Zorka). Loving grandfather of Carly, Skylar, Sabrina, Sophie, Emma, Nicholas, Michael, Victoria and Tomislav.
Mario was born in Banj, Croatia on September 2, 1943 to the late Krsto and Zorka (née Pedisic) and came to the US in 1966. He lived in Queens and Hoboken before moving to Cliffside Parrk, NJ in 1976. Mario was a retired Refrigeration Mechanic for the ILA Local 1804-1 in Elizabeth, NJ.
Visiting Hours Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4 to 8 pm at Konopka Funeral Home, 9046 Palisade Ave, North Bergen, NJ. Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, 395 Delano Place, Fairiview, NJ. Interment, Mjesbo Groblje, Banj, Croatia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude's Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
