Obituary of Josephine L de Leon

Josephine L. de Leon, 66, passed away on June 16th 2023, at Hudson Regional Medical Center, Secaucus, NJ surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Mrs. de Leon was born in Manila, Philippines and emigrated to New York City in 1984. She lived in the United States for thirty-nine years, residing and raising her children in Queens and Long Island. She most recently was a resident of Secaucus, New Jersey.
Josephine was a full-time mother, who raised three children, cared for her husband and went to school to become a dental assistant. She dedicated over thirty years of hard work to dental practices in Long Island, Manhattan, Secaucus, and most recently Dr. Edward Kim in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. She loved the art of cooking, shopping, spending time with her family and friends. The highlight of her life was caring for her two young grandchildren, Cameron Lucas and Winter Avery, a joyous and different type of love she never felt before, she often said.
Mrs. de Leon was predeceased by her husband, Marcelino de Leon Jr. (2011) and survived by her eldest son, Joseph Lucas, his wife, Imee de Leon, of Rochelle Park, her daughters, Jennifer de Leon of Morris Plains, NJ, Maria-Rita Christine de Leon of San Diego, CA and aforementioned grandchildren.
She also has several siblings, Rosemarie Hoey, Alicia Quinones, Jose Jr, Sagraria, Maria Luz, Rolando, and two who are no longer with us, Godofredo de Cena and Zenaida Limson.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Friday, June 23, 2023 between 4 pm and 8 pm at the Joseph Z. Konopka Funeral Home, 9046 Palisades Avenue, North Bergen, NJ 07047. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:45 am at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Daniel Simone, Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, Highland Park, NJ.
