Dear Elena Granados and Family
My heart breaks for you. Rigo was a treasure, a prince and a gentleman, warm, compassionate, intelligent, dedicated, and kind, with a quick wit and a twinkle in his eye. He had an uncanny knack for establishing rapport with students, welcoming them into his office as if he were welcoming them into his home, “Come, Come” he would beckon as he directed them to his tiny office. Yet he was no pushover when it came to education, but a fierce advocate for the highest standards in teaching and learning. He would make me laugh whenever our paths crossed, calling me fashionista or making fun of my shoes! He was so very proud of the Yuca dish you prepare, often sharing it with us at our holiday parties.
I have known Rigo for 24 years, and it is difficult to imagine the Humanities Department without him. May he find peace and happiness on his journey to neverland. Please be kind to yourselves, with love and sympathy, Jackie Berger

I want to express my deepest and heartfelt sympathy and sadness for the loss of one of the most special human beings that I have ever had the great pleasure of knowing.
