Obituary of Raymond Rescildo

Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Raymond Rescildo (Ray) tragically passed away suddenly on December 4, 2020. Raymond is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 52 years, Ruthann Rescildo (Cookie), and his devoted and loving daughters, Nichole and Jennifer. Born January 18, 1941, in New York City Raymond was the first born of three children to the late Rose and Ralph Rescildo. Raymond spent most of his adult life in Fairview, NJ, before he relocated to Manchester, NJ, a year ago. Ray was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words were poignant and wise. He was inherently kind, jovial, and full of grace and patience. When it came down to it, he lived his life for his precious wife and two beautiful daughters. His strong arms and gentle smile were always a beacon of reassurance, and his light-hearted nature made the world a better place for everyone he met. A traditional gentleman ruled by heart, grit, and substance, for Ray, a perfect Sunday was one consumed with God, family, The Giants, and a killer macaroni and gravy. The simplest things in his life truly elicited the greatest joys. Raymond was a bona fide warrior. He was an eighteen-year Multiple Myeloma Cancer, Stem Cell Survivor. His most recent battle with MDS was one he confronted with fearless determination, optimism, and hope. Ray long ago abandoned any sense of self-pity and chose to embrace each day with a smile on his face, a song on his lips and ready to dance the day troubles away. He would end each evening praying with his three girls before he laid his head down to rest. He was a man who dedicated his life to his family, affording him a life filled with purpose and enduring love; there is no greater gift to be had in this life and he considered himself blessed. Cookie married a true He-Man and Nichole and Jennifer were blessed with a Daddy that every little girl deserves. The world has lost a bright, beautiful light, and he will live on forever in the hearts of his cherished girls, his extended family, and his many dear friends. Rest in peace our beloved!
