Dear Patty, Regina, Patrick, and family,
It's difficult to suffer the loss of a parent. It may feel as if one is suddenly orphaned. Perhaps there will be an urge to call and then remembering that she is gone. Yet, she is never far from your heart and memory so in that sense, she's never really gone. She will be kept alive by practicing the values she has instilled. Memory of her will survive when her favorite recipes are made, songs are sung or movies are viewed. When family traditions are carried on, she lives again in you. Nothing can separate you from her love, now she can give you it constantly.
Her suffering here with health issues is over. Rejoice in knowing that she is freed from physical infirmity. .It's difficult to watch a person age and become incapable of the tasks she once did with ease. Feel comfort in knowing that that burden is over for her. She's at peace. She's with God. There's really no better place to be, Belief in that will keep you connected on a deeper level.
Death is not an end but a transformation into a new way of being. Our hope is that each person leaves the world a little better than it was upon entry. Her legacy lives on through her children that she taught so well.
As you remember your mom and mourn her passing, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I regret not being able to make it there tonight nor tomorrow. But I want you to know that we care and will keep you in our prayers.
